The “X” is the defining symbol of the collection: an expression of the brand’s 10-year anniversary and a tribute to the dream track of every motorsport enthusiast, to the Automobile Club de Monaco, and to the vision that has established MONGRIP™ as a solid and distinctive reality, as well as the precise point where speed becomes memory.

The distinctive element of the collection is indeed the original portion of a rear wet-weather tyre, fitted to one of the 22 Formula 1™ cars that took part in the legendary 1996 Monaco Grand Prix — a tyre that endured extreme conditions during a race destined to become part of Motorsport history.
Designed and developed in Monaco and crafted in Italy, the X Monaco Grand Prix – Signature Limited Edition embodies the essence of MONGRIP™: preserving authentic racing relics and transforming them into essential creations where material, memory and the pursuit of excellence merge together. The piece is enriched by an exclusive racing relic from the circuit itself, originating from the legendary street circuit of the Principality of Monaco, alongside a silver clasp embellished with enamel in the colours of the Monegasque flag.
On 19 May 1996, a sudden and violent downpour shortly before the start radically transformed the course of the Monaco Grand Prix. All the pre-race favourites — from Michael Schumacher to Damon Hill, from Jean Alesi to Mika Häkkinen — were forced to retire.
Strategies unravelled and, in an unexpected finale, French driver Olivier Panis, behind the wheel of the Ligier, delivered the masterpiece of his career by securing a victory that would remain the only one of his Formula 1™ career, yet forever etched into Motorsport history. Only two other drivers would see the chequered flag: David Coulthard in second place and Johnny Herbert on the third step of the podium.
Thirty years later, that moment is no longer just a memory: it has become material.
